A long history in development cooperation

The Copenhagen office is home to more than 40 employees working under the NIRAS International Consulting business units. Since the signing of our first development cooperation contract more than 50 years ago, NIRAS has been following the same line of contributing to a better, more equal, and stable world in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The projects we manage in our office refer to a wide range of topics such as Peace, stability and governance; Climate change and Natural Resource Management (Green Transition), Agriculture and Forestry as well as Water. Just to mention a few flagships, We are responsible for the Danish government's Deployment Facility for Peace and Democracy  and for coordinating our work with The European Union Framework Contracts. Together we annually implement more than 100 development projects globally (as of May 2025).

The Copenhagen office has a powerful international orientation with more than 10 different nationalities, even more languages and cultures.  We pride ourselves in fostering a culture of zero tolerance towards harassment, and continuously facilitating a vibrant and respectful office environment operating in full compliance with NIRAS Principles of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
